Peter Jackson has cameos in all six of his Middle-Earth films, and they range from "duh, there he is" to "even Sherlock Holmes would struggle to spot this guy".

He can be seen munching on a carrot during The Fellowship Of The Ring and The Desolation Of Smaug, throwing a spear during the Helm's Deep battle in The Two Towers, and appears as a Dwarf of the Lonely Mountain in An Unexpected Journey.

But his sneakiest cameo, by far, came during his most recent effort - 2014's The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies.

Jackson can be seen (in portrait form) toward the end of the film, as Bilbo hangs a picture of his father - Bungo Baggins - on the wall.

The portraits - the other of which features Jackson's wife, Fran Walsh, playing Bilbo's mother, Belladonna - were made in 1998 and can also be seen briefly in The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
