5. A Car (Christine)
Another Stephen King creation, this one was brought to the screen by horror legend John Carpenter. Christine was a movie about the titular car - a 1958 Plymouth Fury with a life of its own and a very malevolent nature. A geeky, nerdy teenager named Arnie purchases Christine and soon starts to change his personality and appearance under her influence, after he discovers she has a thing for him. His nature changes to reflect the car - he becomes cocky and arrogant and swaps his geeky thick glasses and nerdy clothes for all black garments. He becomes disconnected with reality and from his friends. Arnie's girlfriend Leigh and best friend Dennis find out that Christine's previous owner cared about nothing else when he bought her and find out that Arnie is becoming just like him. The only way they can bring Arnie back to reality is to destroy Christine, but Arnie and Christine are ready to destroy them first and any one else who gets in their way. As a result, a lot of people die, but Christine is ultimately crushed. However, the ending suggests that her consciousness wasn't destroyed.
