10 Ingenious Scenes In Otherwise Terrible Movies

5. The Brachiosaurus - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom may well be one of the best-directed bad movies ever. The script is dumb enough to suggest it was likely scrawled on a cocktail napkin the night before filming, but at least it's capably helmed by vastly overqualified filmmaker J. A. Bayona.

Yet while the majority of the movie is an awkward collision of over-baked, unearned fan service and Syfy-caliber plotting, there is a single scene which manages to tweak viewers' nostalgia receptors in just the right way.

As Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) escape a destroyed Isla Nublar, their final glimpse is of Jurassic Park's original Brachiosaurus being consumed by the island's volcanic eruption.

It's a terrific moment of artful devastation, albeit one which the rest of the movie pales so wildly in comparison to. This was a neat reminder of when Jurassic Park made us feel things other than disappointment.
