The Theory

The long-planned reshoots for Fox's The New Mutants will actually roll it into the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Why It Might Be True

While it's incredibly unlikely that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios have much interest in retaining Fox's X-Men Universe in any way, making The New Mutants an "adjunct" to the MCU, just like Sony's Venom, would nevertheless be an interesting way to finally, tacitly introduce the concept of mutants into the MCU.

After all, until the Disney-Fox merger was completed, the MCU was prohibited from using mutants due to Fox owning the rights to the concept within Marvel media.

But with the film recently being delayed until April 2020, it would certainly give writer-director Josh Boone ample time to create new scenes allowing the story to dovetail into the MCU continuity.

Also, given that the upcoming Dark Phoenix is being marketed as the "end" of Fox's X-Men movies, it leaves The New Mutants in a bit of an awkward position.

So, if the core of the film is at least salvageable, it'd be easy for Feige to co-opt it into the MCU without needing to make it an official, card-carrying Marvel Studios movie.
