10 Insane Movie Sequels That We Really Wish Had Happened
4. Roger Rabbit II: Toon Platoon
It's A Sequel To: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of the best and most memorable films of the '80s; directed by Robert Zemeckis, the awesome blend of live-action and animation - not to mention a fantastic performance by the late Bob Hoskins - has ensured its legacy.
One can't help but feel a little sad that Zemeckis and company never managing to get the long-talked about sequel, Roger Rabbit II: Toon Platoon, into production, however, given that it sounds like one of the craziest movies ever.
Had it been made, Toon Platoon would reportedly have honed in on Roger Rabbit years after the events of the first flick, as he's enlisted in a cartoon army and forced to fight in a huge war with lots of recognisable animated characters at his side (now you're interested, right?).
Can you imagine how awesome that might have been if Zemeckis had motivated himself enough to make it? Bugs Bunny taking cover in a trench; Mickey Mouse cooking a grenade; Elmer Fudd getting his head blown off by an enemy sniper...
Okay, so it was probably something to do with that last point that Roger Rabbit II never materialised; I can't escape the feeling, however, that this animated battle royale would have proven itself to be one of the most outright insane - not to mention original - sequels ever made.
