10 Inspiring Documentaries That Could Change Your Life

4. More Brains!

Speaking of horror movies, Return of the Living Dead – the cult-classic zombie horror, released back in 1985 – received its very own documentary in 2011, which examines the making-of one of the most influential zombie movies ever made. In the film, two warehouse workers discover a secret military experiment, and proceed with accidentally releasing a gas which reanimates the dead, unleashing a horde of nightmarish corpses on a group of unsuspecting teenagers.

Return of the Living Dead is a wonderful amalgamation of horror and comedy, exploiting obscene imagery and excessive gore to shock and disgust its audience in equal measure. As such, the documentary – More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead – should be considered mandatory viewing for anyone interested in practical effects or the horror genre.

In fact, the majority of the film is dedicated to interviews concerning the challenges of the shoot, from financial concerns to licensing disputes with legendary George Romero himself.
