When writer, director, and producer Tom Six released The Human Centipede in 2009, the film quickly rose to infamy thanks to its gruesome premise despite the film's depictions of violence being surprisingly tame. In fact, it played out more like a black comedy than an exploitation horror.

However, that all changed with the release of the sequel a few years later. This time Six didn't pull any punches.

In a macabre twist, the sequel centred around an unhinged nightwatchman (Laurence R. Harvey) who’s obsessed with the first film. His aim is to create his own, larger human-centipede hybrid using people he kidnaps and leaves in a warehouse.

Not being a qualified medical professional, though, his procedure is as primitive as it gets – and viewers don’t get to miss any of the gory details.

The long and gruelling scene begins with the man knocking each of his “patients” out before he knocks their teeth out with a hammer and severs ligaments in their knees to prevent them from moving. Finally, with a staple gun, scissors, and tape, he joins the surviving ten victims together.

And this isn't mentioning what he does to his creation when he's finished.
