10 Least Terrifying Villains In Horror Movie History
4. Roman - Scream 3
Another entry from the Horror sequel genre that managed to miss the point of what made the original villains so damn scary. While previous mass murderers in the Scream franchise were unhinged and demented, they also had some scarily relatable character traits.
The same can't be said for Roman, a forgettably one dimensional character whose inability to have any distinguishing characteristics hurts his ability to have any impact on the viewer. The director of upcoming flick 'Stab 3', Roman comes across as a pretentious douchebag, while his fake out death feels very uninspired. The use of the 'Ghostface' mask is noticeably past its used by date here, exhibiting sighs rather than gasps from the audience.
The lack of relatability to the central villain isn't helped when he is seemingly shot and killed, only for it to revealed by a deceased Randy that the villain now has superhuman abilities. The later reveal that Roman was in fact wearing a bullet proof vest just drains even more impact away from an already lame duck, while making you wish they never killed off Randy in the first place.
