The lovability of the Tenenbaums is dictated largely by your feelings about Wes Anderson and his work. There are many out there who cant quite get into his characters and his style of filmmaking, but for the ones who can, they fall in love hard with every new set of people he brings to life on the screen, and the Tenenbaums are one of his finest creations to date. The brilliant and successful children who failed to realize their full potential these are characters to fall in love with, whose burdened young shoulders cracked somewhat under the pressure and who never quite grew up as a result. And it doesnt hurt one bit that theyre surrounded by a ridiculous and masterfully-created ensemble. The fact that the film went on to earn a well-deserved nod from the Academy for Best Original Screenplay, a nomination Anderson shared with beloved collaborator Owen Wilson, proves that there are many out there who share a well-deserved love of The Royal Tenenbaums.
Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
