10 Major Problems With Zack Snyder’s Justice League
4. Atlantans And Amazons Do Not Help In The Fight Against Steppenwolf
One of the main themes both versions of the Justice League tries to push is that people are stronger together. That no matter what the odds are, when the time comes we must put our differences aside and work together to fight a common enemy.
Unfortunately, both versions fail in nailing this theme. This is because both films fail to address why the Atlanteans and the Amazons do not do more to help in the fight against Steppenwolf.
Both civilisations recognise that the Mother Boxes are dangerous relics that could lead to the end of the world and they both uphold their responsibilities to protect them for centuries after Darkseid first came to Earth. But when they lose them, they decide not to send their armies after them. Instead, they both hand the responsibility off to Aquaman and Wonder Woman and remain in hiding from humanity.
This completely goes against the main theme of the film while also not giving a valid reason as to why the Atlanteans and Amazons do not do more to help. It is also confusing as to why neither civilisation decides to contact humanity and warn them about the potential threat.
