We're yet to see Thompson's Valkyrie in action, with Thor: Ragnarok not releasing until October, but the character's already shaping up to be one of the coolest things about Taika Waititi's upcoming superhero feature.

With an appearance already in the bag for Infinity War, and with the character having collaborated with various Marvel alumni on and off the page, it's likely that Thompson's Valkyrie will factor into the development of the MCU post-Infinity War in a big way, especially if Chris Hemsworth begins to wind down his appearances as the almighty God of Thunder.

Asgard will always need some sort of presence on Earth, and Thompson, with previous roles on Dear White People, Selma and Creed, is an awesome talent to have involved with Marvel. For that reason alone it makes perfect sense to have her take a place alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but the character of Valkyrie is great in her own right too.

No doubt we'll get a clearer picture of what exactly Valkyrie will be getting up to in the MCU when Ragnarok releases in October, but the wait - seeing as how we're so excited for it and all - is going to be a tricky one.
