10 Marvel Organisations That Should Appear In The MCU

5. Sons Of The Serpent

The Sons of the Serpent are a subversive organization that have appeared in a number of Marvel books over the years. They€™re American nationalists who oppose all racial, ethnic, and religious minorities. The first incarnation was a group secretly organized by a Chinese general as a way to weaken America from the inside, with another version led by a TV personality (both groups of which went up against the Avengers). Another was formed by a black man trying to gain power and was thwarted by the Defenders. There was yet another group that focused more on mysticism. And the best incarnation to date was featured in a recent story-arc in Daredevil that showed the Sons of the Serpent infiltrating a good portion of the New York City justice system. Although a group of non-powered, mostly faceless racists may not make for exciting big-screen action, the Sons of the Serpent could be particularly effective in the Netflix shows. One potential is to use them in Daredevil (drawing on the recent story-arc), but another could be pitting them against Luke Cage, an African American superhero. With tensions over race and immigration at a high point in American society, it seems like a great way to explore some issues that aren€™t often explored in superhero movies and TV shows.
