10 Marvel Organisations That Should Appear In The MCU

3. The Maggia

An international criminal syndicate that originated in Europe, the Maggia was basically Marvel€™s version of the Mafia. It€™s been rumored that the organization was called the Maggia because Marvel didn€™t want to risk offending the actual Mafia (who purportedly controlled distribution at the time). The Maggia is a massive criminal organization which consists of several different competing families, just like the real Mafia. The main difference is that the Maggia often employs costumed supervillains as operatives. The more famous families are the Silvermane family, led by Silvio €œSilvermane€ Manfredi, the Hammerhead family led by the villain Hammerhead, and the Nefaria family led by the supervillain Count Nefaria and later his daughter, Madame Masque. With a huge hand in the street-level crime, the Maggia is the perfect linking thread between the different Netflix series. Many of their members have run afoul of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones throughout the years. It even provides a link to the movies. Count Nefaria himself is also a powerful supervillain who has gone up against the Avengers a number of times, and Madame Masque and Tony Stark have a romantic history together. Also, the Costa Family was responsible for the deaths of Frank Castle€™s wife and children, so there€™s another potential link if Marvel ever decides to try and pursue another Punisher movie or TV series.
