10 Marvel Villains For Phase 4 (And Who Should Play Them)

4. MODOK (Christoph Waltz)

With Inglourious Basterds and SPECTRE already under his belt, it€™s unlikely that the mighty Christoph Waltz would take on a generic villain role. If Marvel Studios want to nab the best villainous actor in recent years, then, they€™ll have to throw Waltz a curveball weird enough to grab his attention. And what could be weirder than a giant head in a jar, with arms and legs sticking out? It€™s about time that Marvel€™s man-meets-machine menace MODOK made the jump to the big screen. This Lee/Dikto creation is one of the most recognisable comic book villains ever, and he€™s constantly reappeared since his debut in 1967. Although he might look ridiculous, MODOK€™s origin story isn€™t all that odd. George Tarleton was a scientist who became a Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing (MODOK) after an experiment at Advanced Idea Mechanics went wrong. He became obsessed with revenge, endowed with near-clairvoyant levels of calculative intelligence, and hell bent on conquering Earth (often with a team of supporting villains). He€™s gone toe-to-toe with superheroes on many occasions, and come pretty close to taking over the planet once or twice. With his supreme smartness and other assorted abilities, MODOK's a lot less silly than he looks. With the help of a great villainous performance from someone of Waltz€™s calibre, MODOK could become a truly memorable MCU villain.
