9. Shadow King
Other than a couple of brief tiffs against Jason Stryker and Emma Frost, the X-Men havent really had to deal with any opposing telepaths. For such an interesting power set, and one which would give both Professor X and Jean Grey a worthy challenge, it's somewhat surprising there hasn't been a more notable foe, yet. It would seem only fitting, then, that a villain of this sort turn up next. The obvious candidate wold be the Shadow King, a being so powerful he doesn't even exist in our sphere of reality. Instead, he occupies the astral plane, where his psychic essence roots around. When he wishes to engage of Earth, he simply possesses bodies that he finds useful. This is how the immortal demon took the form of an Egyptian gangster for so long. Its also this sordid past, and a history with a young Storm that brings him into the fold of the X-Men. He would push Xavier to his limits, offer a new type of threat, and provide the possibility of a massive spectacle. What more could you want in a potential antagonist?
