5. Cassandra Nova
From the insane brain of Grant Morrison came the terrifying Cassandra Nova. Officially classified as a mummudrai, a parasitic form without a body, Nova has a rich and complicated history intertwined with Charles Xavier. Conceived as his twin, they battled each other in the womb only for her body to die. Existing only as a psychic force, she lurked for years before amassing the power to form a body. From there, her quest for vengeance began in earnest. Using sentinels, she ordered the destruction of the mutant sanctuary Genosha, killing 16 million in the process. She then escaped punishment by switching bodies with her brother and posing as Professor X. Novas powers are outstanding, but its her deceptive nature and despicable behaviour that could make her a great follow-up to Apocalypse. Hes all about destruction for the greater good and a world in his image. In contrast, Nova just wants to use her brain to get at her brother and hurt mutants.
