10 Massively Hyped 2017 Movies That Will Definitely Disappoint

Remaking popular Anime products into live-action is fast becoming another easy way for Hollywood to print money, hence Ghost in the Shell. To be fair, at least this gives them a chance to give a talented Asian actress a lead role and finally give us some diversity. Oh wait, they cast Scarlett Johansson.

While the visuals seen in the first trailer look quite similar to the animated feature, the film manages to look like a mixture between a bunch of early noughties action duds like Aeon Flux and Ultraviolet both of which are, of course, terrible. The initial trailer also gives off a much more typical 'origin' story vibe which is disappointingly unlike the source which instead just drops us into the mix without spoon feeding everything.

Ghost in the Shell looks to be following the trend of adapting foreign properties with a lot of what makes the original so special being lost in translation.
