10 Massively Underrated Horror Movies

1. Hush

Halloween 3: Season of The Witch
Blumhouse

Blumhouse is an endless production line of horror, and every once in a while, a real gem quietly drops off it, sandwiched between the noise and hype of the latest Paranormal Activity and Purge instalments.

This was the case when Hush made its debut on Netflix, creeping onto the streaming service and unexpectedly establishing itself as one of its top rated horror movies.

Hush is a good old-fashioned horror-thriller which follows a deaf mute woman as she's stalked by a masked man at her secluded home, and she quickly learns than his only motivation is to kill her for entertainment.

There's little dialogue in the film, but director Mike Flanagan bombards the audience with audio stimuli and ambient sounds, and cranks up the suspense in all kinds of creative ways. Hush somehow succeeds in being both a homage to silent movies and a terrifying work of sonic art.
