10 MCU Concept Art Designs Better Than What We Got
6. Gigantic Abomination
When Emil Blonsky was transformed into Abomination in The Incredible Hulk, he was the Green Goliath's equal from a physical standpoint, but Marvel's artists originally envisioned him as a much greater threat.
Early concept designs for the villain presented him as towering over the Hulk, putting Bruce Banner's inner monster in uncharted territory. It isn't often the strongest Avenger finds the odds stacked against him like this.
By making Abomination several feet taller, the hero would have been forced to be more tactical in his approach, instead of simply going toe to toe and slugging away.
Presumably Marvel chose to scale post-transformation Blonsky back and make him roughly the same size of Hulk to cut back on the amount of CGI needed. It was a wise move in that sense, but bigger is generally better when it comes to Hulk bad guys.
