6. Wonder Man (Nathan Fillion) - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2

There's been a campaign for Nathan Fillion to be cast in a Marvel movie bubbling ever since the early days of the MCU- mostly thanks to his links to Joss Whedon. Strictly speaking, he has already appeared, thanks to a vocal cameo in Guardians Of The Galaxy, but that doesn't really count: we all want to see that million dollar face.

And we apparently almost got to in the follow-up to the first Guardians movie, as Fillion himself has confirmed. He was initially set to appear as Simon Williams AKA Wonder Man, whose day job is as an actor.

Thre plan was to have him appear in some posters riffing on real movies - including a Tony Stark biopic in the vein of Steve Jobs - but the cameo was cut. Still, James Gunn counts it as canon, so at least we know Fillion's Williams is out there somewhere, hopefully, to appear properly somewhere down the line.
