5. Captain Marvel - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

It feels like it's taken forever to get Captain Marvel to the big screen after a surprisingly slow pre-production process, which was extended by the political weight of the MCU not yet having a female-led stand-alone solo movie yet.

But at one point, Captain Marvel could have appeared much earlier than her expected appearance in Avengers: Infinity War. Among the many plans that Joss Whedon couldn't get green-lit for Avengers: Age Of Ultron (which led to his departure from Marvel Studios), he wanted Carol Danvers to appear.

Sadly for him, Marvel though introducing her too early would be too confusing to casual audience members, though Whedon had already shot footage intended for her entrance scene (which were recycled as background footage for Scarlet Witch).
