10 MCU Movies That Could Fill Marvel Studios' Empty Release Slots

Deadpool and the Fantastic Four coming over from Fox to Disney, and seemingly releasing relatively soon, are both huge additions to the MCU. However, without a doubt, the biggest property coming over to Marvel Studios from Fox is the X-Men.

Marvel’s greatest mutants first came together on the big screen back in 2000, and have gone on to be one of the biggest movie franchises ever through 13 movies until its final chapter, The New Mutants, in 2020. It may have limped over the finish line somewhat, but now that the franchise and the characters are under the Disney umbrella, fans can begin to get really excited.

Kevin Feige mentioned mutants while wrapping up San Diego Comic Con in 2019, though there has since been no confirmation of what is to come. There have been rumours of Hugh Jackman’s involvement, and of a movie in development simply titled ‘The Mutants’, however again, nothing is certain.

With Wanda seemingly taking a darker path as the Scarlet Witch, and the franchise potentially barreling towards something of a House of M adaptation, mutants could be set up in the MCU as early as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. From this, a 2024 release of the first X-Men movie would be perfect.
