6. Jurassic Park III (2001)
Jurassic Park III is absolutely a mediocre film in every sense of the word, but it's also nowhere near bad enough to warrant shutting down the
Jurassic Park franchise for good. Some might say, "Oh, just leave it there, it's fine," but I'd argue that the one thing that
Jurassic Park really needs - given where the series left off - is some well-earned closure. After all, the avenue for a genuinely good story is still there, what with the so many dinosaurs still loose on the infamous Costa Rican islands, and the prospect that some of them might've even set up camp closer to civilisation. It's probably a good thing that a new entry is set for a 2014 release date, then, because there's certainly story to be mined here. The opportunity to even re-visit the aftermath of the original island, Isla Nublar, is even on the cards. Whilst many many fans might think that a terrible idea, I genuinely believe it'd be a good way to bring the series full circle. Also, I don't think I can possibility deny another chance to see dinosaurs on the big screen, since there isn't another movie franchise currently dealing with such a prospect.
