4. Salacious B. Crumb
Jabba's monkey/lizard/jester is the comic relief in Jabba's palace, a chattering moron who shrieks with glee at everything his master does and fulfils many fans' fantasies by mutilating C-3PO. To fully appreciate Jabba's monstrous nature we must witness it through the eyes of his most constant companion, the one who has avoided Jabba's fatal anger with no more than sycophantic buffoonery.
Salacious Crumb, as this creature is named, has a tale as grim and miserable as that of anyone in Star Wars. He exists for the amusement of a vile, degenerate monster, forced to witness all Jabba's excesses and to laugh at them.
The inner turmoil of this creature is hard to imagine. He must meet every atrocity with appreciative cackling, or Jabba will most certainly dispose of him (probably by eating him). Perhaps it is just as well for Jabba that Princess Leia strangles him first, because the horror story that unfolds when Salacious Crumb finally snaps would be something to behold.
