Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle remains one of the greatest stoner comedies of all time, and among its more memorably unhinged asides is the outrageous subplot where Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are picked up by Freakshow, a haggard tow-truck driver with boils all over his face.

You'd certainly be forgiven for having no idea the role was played by Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni, who donned significant facial prosthetics along with a long, scraggly wig to disappear into the deranged character.

And even when Freakshow later strips down to a leopard-print Speedo as he attempts to initiate a foursome with Harold, Kumar, and his wife Liane (Malin Akerman), audiences are likely still none the wiser of who they're looking at.

As transformative as the makeup is, you have to give Meloni credit for digging deep and emmeshing himself in this walking cartoon of a character, enough that you'd never, ever suspect it was "that guy from Oz and Law & Order."
