1. Ghostbusters: Afterlife
After the disaster that was Ghostbusters 2016, Sony are desperately trying to redeem the franchise name. Thankfully, as we approach Ghostbusters: Afterlife, everything is looking good for upcoming sci-fi flick. Completely glossing over the previous film, Afterlife will serve as a true sequel, with original cast members coming back to the franchise. Even the stubborn Bill Murray - who has turned down every offer for a new Ghostbusters film - signed on to reprise his role.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be set 30 years after the initial movies. The Ghostbusters team have been mostly forgotten about, reduced to legend after their retirement. As a family settles into their new home, the children discover their link to the supernatural containment squad. As they investigate further, they discover the rich legacy their grandfather has left behind.
The film will mark the first time Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will share the screen since the passing of the legendary Harold Ramis. Joining them will be Stranger Things star, Finn Wolfhard as one of the grandchildren and everyone's favourite immortal being, Paul Rudd. With casting this good, fans are excited to see the franchise return to its once great form.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been pushed back to March 2021, after the original 2020 date was considered unworkable in the current climate.
