10 More Horror Movie Reveals So Bad You Almost Walked Out

3. The Predator

Although each Predator film brings something different to the table, they tend to follow the same formula, with the titular alien hunting down challenging adversaries to prove themselves the superior warrior. However, Shane Black's The Predator attempted to change things up.

Early on in the story, a group of scientists discovers the Yautja are collecting human DNA. Over time, the scientists learn that the Predators are absorbing human genes into their own to evolve into more efficient hunters. This reveal isn't great, but it could've been worse.

But then... it gets worse.

It's revealed the mandibled monsters intend to hybridise with an autistic boy called Rory, believing his neurodiversity can benefit their race. This plot-point isn't just disrespectful to the neurodiverse community, but it's barely explored or explained.

It's also mentioned that climate change will soon prevent the Predators from using human DNA, which is why they're so desperate to harvest it. Not only is this line unsubtly crowbarred in for the sake of social commentary, it doesn't have any effect on the overarching narrative.

The Predator's new motivate is so unnecessarily convoluted, it's hard to believe anyone thought it should be included.
