10 MORE Horror Movie Scenes You Didn’t Realise Were Tricking You

6. Where's Michael? - Halloween Ends

Whether slasher loyalists enjoyed or hated Halloween Ends, it's impressive how deceitful the prologue is. The thirteenth instalment in the iconic series opens with young Corey Cunningham babysitting a boy called Jeremy.

Now, let's put this into perspective. This isn't just a horror flick; it's the final entry in the most influential slasher franchise of all time. Even though everything starts innocently, viewers know in their heart of hearts the Shatner-masked psychopath, Michael Myers, will burst in at any moment.

And when Jeremy goes missing, it seems like it's only a matter of time before Corey stumbles upon the child's fresh corpse.

That's when Halloween Ends pulls a fast one. Although the movie kicks off with a tragic death, Michael Myers plays no part in it. While Corey looks for Jeremy in the attic, the boy locks Corey inside, proving his "disappearance" was a harmless prank.

Kicking the door open, Corey accidentally knocks Jeremy off the staircase, causing him to plummet to his death. This incident traumatises Corey, gradually turning him into Michael Myer's potential successor.

Halloween Ends may have been a disappointment, but the misleading intro was pretty cool.
