7. Psycho Goreman

Okay, nobody should be expecting anything called "Psycho Goreman" to be normal. Having said that, the splatter-horror-comedy-sci-fi creature feature is a lot to process.

The nutty B-movie centres around siblings, Mimi and Luke, who come into possession of an ancient talisman that allows them to control a godlike alien, who they dub Psycho Goreman. Mimi hopes to use PG for her own amusement, unaware her actions have drawn the attention of other cosmic invaders.

Although the premise is wild, the tone is even more bizarre. Nearly every scene has tonal whiplash, especially when a tender moment suddenly transitions into a hybrid of horror and slapstick. Characters rarely act realistically, even when half the world is destroyed. (There's one set of parents who seem surprisingly okay with their son being turned into a brain monster.) Due to the rubbery costumes, hammy acting, and intentionally bad green-screen, it's impossible to take any scenario seriously.

Exploring cosmic horror in such a juvenile way may sound ludicrous but Psycho Goreman is a blast if viewers turn their brains off and surrender to its wackiness.
