Matthew Lillard showing his face in Scream 2 after his character had been killed was one thing, but Liar Liar took this a step further within the same year. How about Jim Carrey making a cameo within his own film?

Of course, Carrey was front and centre throughout Liar Liar, which was a perfect blend of the man's trademark goofball comedy and his surprisingly underrated dramatic chops. This cameo couldn't be more in the category of the former, as the SNL legend brought another one of his characters onto the screen.

At this point in the movie, Carrey's Fletcher Reed had chased down his son's aeroplane and was lying on a stretcher surrounded by onlookers and emergency responders. Insanely, Carrey himself played one such firefighter, appearing in the background behind Cary Elwes as his In Living Colour character, Fire Marshall Bill.

It's a split-second thing that is absolutely missable the first time around, but once you see it, it will feel impossible that it slipped by. Bill isn't exactly trying to blend in; in fact, he's doing his best to stand out in a way that only Jim Carrey could.
