10 More Movie Sequels You Have No Idea Were Just Released
6. The Wrath Of Becky
It didn't set the world on fire in 2020, but Becky was nevertheless a scrappy little revenge thriller which made the absolute most of Lulu Wilson, who portrayed the titular teenage girl as she sought vengeance for the murder of her father (Joel McHale) at the hands of a vicious neo-Nazi (Kevin James).
Though it cracked barely $1 million at the box office, Becky was evidently a solid performer on streaming, as a sequel was swiftly put into production and shot in secret in the summer of 2022.
Even with a well-received premiere at SXSW this past March and the appeal of casting Seann William Scott against-type as the leader of an alt-right hate group, however, you could be forgiven for spacing on the sequel's existence, which was released to the masses at the end of May.
Despite critics largely seeing The Wrath of Becky as an improvement over its solid predecessor, it mostly fell upon deaf ears on release, grossing just a fraction of what the first film did theatrically and landing on streaming with barely a peep.
If you're in the market for some modest, gory good fun, though, you could do far worse than checking both of the Becky movies out.
