10 More Movie Storylines Actors REFUSED To Do

A major highlight in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla is a brief but hilarious sex montage between One Two (Gerard Butler) and Stella (Thandiwe Newton). The scene is built up with plenty of playful banter, indicating the two are about to have a truly intimate romp. 

Instead, all viewers see is a four-second clip composed of rapid-fire shots of the pair's reactions in mid-coitus. Due to Ritchie's rep for quick edits and quirky storytelling, the unconventional way this scene is depicted seems like a stylistic choice.

However, this hysterical moment was filmed this way out of necessity. When Butler showed up on set with a nasty throat infection, Newton was worried about catching something. 

Although the director's wife at the time, Madonna, tried fixing Butler up with vitamins, it didn't make a difference. As such, Newton refused to do anything physical with the Scottish star, which is why the sequence was cut short and the actors are never in the same shot.

Even though an inconvenience like this could've thrown off a less experienced director, Ritchie worked his movie magic to create one of the movie's most memorable moments.
