10 More Movies Actors Want You To Forget

4. Hercules In New York - Arnold Schwarzenegger

There's just no way that anyone would remember 1969's Hercules in New York if not for the fact that it was the feature debut of a 22-year-old, fresh-off-the-boat Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Credited as "Arnold Strong 'Mr. Universe'", Schwarzenegger plays Hercules as he is sent to New York City in order to see how humans live.

The results are, predictably, calamitous, with the film's mere $300,000 budget being further sullied by Arthur Allan Seidelman's flat direction, a woefully bad script and Schwarzenegger's clueless performance.

For fans of Arnie's, it's undeniably hilarious seeing him walk around NYC in a string vest and attacking sailors with a plank of wood, but the real kicker?

Schwarzenegger had ambitions of being a Hollywood star but hadn't yet fully grasped the English language, resulting in howlingly clunky line readings throughout, such as the infamous, "You have strucked Hercules." In some versions of the film Arnie's voice is even re-dubbed by another actor because he's so incomprehensible.

Arnie has been in his share of duds over the years, though this is one of the few he's openly confessed to regretting appearing in. After all, Schwarzenegger's budding film career stagnated afterwards until he received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in 1976's Stay Hungry.
