10 More Movies Actors Want You To Forget
3. Children Of The Corn IV: The Gathering - Naomi Watts
This wretched 1996 straight-to-video entry into the interminable Children of the Corn franchise wasn't Naomi Watts' screen debut, but it was her first starring role, for which she was paid $5,000. Not bad for a few weeks' work back in 1996, honestly.
A 28-year-old Watts plays protagonist Grace Rhodes, a young woman who inadvertently falls foul of a fleet of possessed, murderous children in a small Nebraska town.
And though her American accent is absolutely note perfect even in this early stage of her career, Watts otherwise gives a totally flat and forgettable performance.
And you can't really blame her: this is a barrel-scraping horror movie that offers her preciously little, yet just three years later she'd meet David Lynch and start shooting Mulholland Dr.
The rest is history, and though Watts' recent filmography hasn't been terribly inspired, it's still a million miles away from this.
