2. Thaddeus Is In Charge - Now You See Me 2
The first Now You See Me film had a good premise - a group of magicians staging a series of heists whilst the FBI try and stop them - and a stellar cast - Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, and so on.
Sadly, it turned out to be a big, confusing mess.
Nevertheless, a sequel got made following a similar premise and, somehow, it turned out even worse. Cinemagoers and critics alike were quick to point out all the inconsistencies between the two films, particularly surrounding Morgan Freeman’s character, Thaddeus Bradley.
Bradley, an ex-magician who made a career out of revealing the tricks of the trade, ends the first movie awaiting jail time after being framed for the magicians’ crimes. By the end of Now You See Me 2, he is shown to be the leader of the evil group, having masterminded the entire scheme right from the very start.
So he… wanted to get himself sent to jail? Why exactly?
This entire franchise was one fire after another, and there's no indication that won't also be the case with the currently in-production third film, which is slated to begin filming this year.
