4. Julie - Return of the Living Dead III
Return of the Living Dead III didn't match the standard of the original, but it still has a couple of redeemable qualities. Not only does it have solid action, witty dialogue, and inventive kills, it also has one of the most unique zombie designs.
While Julie Walker was riding on a motorcycle with her boyfriend, she falls off and dies. Desperate to bring her back to life, the boyfriend exposes Julie to a rejuvenating toxin, turning her into a brain-feasting zombie. Once Julie discovers extreme pain represses her bloodlust, she starts mutilating herself, hoping to remain as one of the living.
When Julie returns later, it's clear she's having serious trouble controlling her cravings (and not just because she's carrying her recently murdered victim by the spine). Her friends are horrified to see Julie has impaled her face, chest, and shoulders with nails and shards of glass in a vain attempt to stay human.
