5. Les Miserables

I really don't want to like Tom Hooper. I'm still sore about The King's Speech winning Best Picture, and Les Miserables seemed like a very Oscar-baity choice for a next film. That's why I was as surprised as anyone when I saw the trailer and absolutely fell in love with it. The cast is certainly fantastic. You can't go wrong with Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, and Anne Hathaway. And the sweeping shots and beautiful music make the film look absolutely fantastic. I hope the film works as a whole, and doesn't just look great in two minute snippets. I'm giving Tom Hooper a chance here, and hopefully he will deliver.

Les Miserables will be in theaters on December 14th.
