10 Most Disturbing Harry Potter Movie Moments
1. Voldemort Returns - Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
It's no surprise that this climax to Goblet of Fire was so terrifying, as the franchise had spent multiple movies relaying how dangerous The Dark Lord was, and now he had our protagonist at arm's length, completely powerless.
After Harry and Cederic discover that the Goblet of Fire was a port key, they arrive at Little Hangerton Graveyard. There, they encounter Wormtail holding the monstrous infantile body of The Dark Lord. However, he doesn't stay small for long, as Peter Pettigrew performs a spell to bring him back to his former glory.
When viewers were given their first glimpse at the full form of Voldemort, it's safe to say that his fearsome reputation made sense. The snake-like design was truly disturbing, and Ralph Fiennes scenery-chewing performance made him utterly scary.
However, Voldemort's return wasn't just disturbing because it brought the villain back, as the scene was also full of horror. The atmosphere in the graveyard felt more at home in an Edgar Allan Poe story than the Wizarding World, and there was plenty of gore, such as Wormtail's loss of a hand and the forceful withdraw of blood from Harry.
Finally, the iconic "I can touch you now" line will forever live in the minds of viewers, and not for pleasant reasons.
