10 Most Exciting New Faces Coming To The MCU

9. JK Simmons - J. Jonah Jameson (Spider-Man 3)

Christian Bale Thor 4
Sony Pictures

This one might be fervent hope on my part, but considering the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’d be a waste of that post-credits scene cameo if J. Jonah Jameson doesn’t crop up again in the MCU.

Sam Raimi’s Spiderman trilogy first brought the web-slinging vigilante to the silver screen, and he did it so very well (as long as you erase emo Peter Parker and that pointless Sand Man twist from your mind.) One of the highlights of that particular incarnation was J.K. Simmons’ portrayal of The Daily Bugle’s hard-hitting, fast-talking editor who just really wanted those pictures of Spiderman. He was so thoroughly meme’d that it may well be what put off Sony from including him in The Amazing Spider-Man.

His surprise reappearance as J. Jonah Jameson, newcaster for TheDailyBugle.net, who broke the story about Spider-Man’s real identity and accused murderer of Quentin Beck, was a delightful easter egg. It is also the first time a non-MCU character has been allowed into the continuity. This has to go down as perfect MCU casting because really, would anyone else actually be able to do this character justice?
