10 Most Exciting Original Horror Movies Still To Come In 2024

Ever since Zach Cregger's Barbarian scared viewers out of their freaking minds, the horror community has been keen to learn about the latest project helmed by the actor-turned-filmmaker. And based on the buzz generated by Cregger's upcoming film, we could be looking at another showstopper. 

Weapons, which stars Josh Brolin, is a mystery drama centred around a group of high school students who vanish without a trace, and like Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, Weapons will feature a series of storylines that eventually interconnect with each other.

Although horror fans should always be cautionary over a hyped movie, Weapons is looking like a guaranteed hit, since every big name and studio under the sun wanted a piece of it from the get-go. To highlight that, Pedro Pascal and Rooney Mara were hoping to star at one point, Get Out director Jordan Peele was willing to spend millions out of his own pocket to produce, and Netflix, Sony, and Universal tried to get the rights before ultimately losing out to New Line Cinema. 

And with Zach Cregger reassembling the production team from Barbarian for Weapons, anticipation is justifiably through the roof.
