5. Adrift
Over 20 years after Requiem for a Dream's release, director Darren Aronofsky and its star Jared Leto will collaborate once again on a supernatural feature, Adrift.
The story begins with a fisherman finding an inexplicably empty yacht, and upon reading through the log book, the fisherman suspects the missing crew encountered an evil force, which may still be onboard. At the moment, details for this ghost ship flick are hush-hush, but having said that, everything known about Adrift so far sounded extremely reassuring.
The story is expected to be genuinely haunting, since it was written by the author of Ring, Koji Suzuki. As well as that, Jason Blum has been behind ghostly hits like Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and Sinister, so it's not surprising to hear he'll be producing Adrift. Also, the project is a huge passion project for Jared Leto, as he pushed for the story's film rights for a decade. For this reason, it's safe to believe a ton of care and love was put into this adaptation.
Since Jared Leto and Darren Aronofksy created real movie magic the first time they worked together, let's hope Adrift has a similar spark.
