10 Most Improved MCU Characters
10. Nick Fury
Nick Fury just scrapes onto the list here, by virtue of his most recent appearance in Captain Marvel. Although he’s largely been confined to cameos and post credit appearances, his more prominent roles in Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier have both knocked it out of the park.
You’d be within your rights then to wonder how he can be described as a most improved character then. However, while those performances have been amazing, they haven’t had a lot of depth. Fury has been brooding, mysterious and imposing, but we never really connected with him.
Cue Captain Marvel. Samuel L Jackson is well versed in comedy, with the likes of Snakes On A Plane, Kingsman, and The Incredibles in his roster. However, it took until this year’s Captain Marvel for him to show this in the MCU. From his more lighthearted banter with Carol to his interactions with Goose the Flerken, Nick Fury was evidently much more relatable in the 90s.
He’s been a brilliant character right from the start, but deserves the nod for how well he developed in his most recent outing.
