After being captured at the start of the movie, Nemo ends up inside a dentist’s fish tank with a gang of other fish, all of whom are determined to escape their surroundings and get to the ocean.

Gill, the leader of the gang, comes up with a plan which requires Nemo to jam the tank’s cleaning system with a pebble. At first, everything goes smoothly, but as Nemo wriggles his way back to safety, the pebble becomes dislodged, and the fan reactivates.

Hindered by his small size and his damaged fin, Nemo is unable to resist the pull of the fan. The prospect of being shredded to pieces is bad enough, but the claustrophobic nature of this moment makes everything even more intense, and Nemo’s desperation continues to rise as he struggles to grab onto the plant being fed to him by the others.

Of course, this being a kids’ movie, our little hero makes it out alive in the end. But for anyone who hates tight spaces, Nemo’s close shave is a nightmare to sit through.
