10 Most Jaw-Dropping Shots In MCU History

Captain America: Civil War really should be called Avengers 2.5 when you break down the beats of the movie.

For as much as the story involves the journey of Buckey Barnes and Steve Rogers, the secondary plot shows the greatest team of superheroes the world has ever seen tearing themselves apart from the inside out. Steve may be the star of the show, but the defining shot of the movie is more about the team than it is about any one member.

After learning that Barnes killed his parents, Tony Stark snaps and starts to fight, letting his emotions get the better of him in order to exact his vengeance on the Winter Soldier. Though he is clearly no match for Cap and Bucky, he puts up a decent fight and even manages to incapacitate Barnes by blowing off his metal arm with his Unibeam. Determined to not give up, Steve comes at Tony with his shield as he prepares to blast him, creating one of the single most epic shots in the MCU.

For all the villains that the team had to face over 20 films, this was the most gut-wrenching shot for comic book fans, as we see two of the biggest faces in the Avengers at odds and willing to die at the hands of their former friends.

Both paying tribute to the comic origins and putting their own unique spin on the matter, this last shot before the climax is the result of all the internal tension between the Avengers reaching its ugliest conclusion.
