4. The Harry Potter Series

This entry made it onto the list not only because magic is the main concept driving the story - at least the beginning of the story - but also because the Harry Potter series is one of the most awe inspiring franchises in film history. Harry Potter features an entire host of amazing creatures, characters and storylines. Some of the best aspects of the series are the continuing education of Harry in the magical arts, the revealing of a little more information about Voldemort with every passing movie, and the friendship of Harry, Ron and Hermione. Every entry in the series has its own ability to enthrall the viewer in the story, and the series was really able to grow with each passing film. The first two are the most basic and work well as kids films while, starting with the third, the series got progressively darker, especially after Voldemort was introduced. To write a full reason as to why the Harry Potter series is so magical would take a series of novels itself, which is all a testament to the brilliant world created by J.K. Rowling and brought to life by various directors throughout the series' history.
