10 Most Meta MCU Moments Ever
7. Cap's Lesson In Patience
Though the vast majority of the MCU's credits scenes amount to something, some of them are more disposable, throwaway jokes. None have more blatantly trolled the audience and their expectation for more than Spider-Man: Homecoming's post-credits nothingburger.
Earlier in the film, Captain America (Chris Evans) makes a cameo appearance in a public service announcement being broadcast at Peter Parker's school, and one of these PSAs is also tagged onto the very end of the film.
But this isn't any regular PSA: it's an advisory about the virtue of the thing MCU fans perhaps lack the most: patience. In the hilariously drawn-out scene, he says:
"Hi, I'm Captain America. I'm here to talk to you about one of the most valuable traits a soldier or student can have - patience. Sometimes, patience is the key to victory. Sometimes, it leads to very little and it seems like it's not worth it, and you wonder why you waited so long for something so disappointing."
Given that not every MCU credits scene can be a truly game-changing set-up for a future film, this was a cheeky way to send that message home, and remind fans that sometimes they're just done for a giggle.
