5. Edgar Wright Left Because Of Its MCU Link

Marvel and Edgar Wright's joint statement may have made their split seem amicable, but rumours of behind the scenes issues between the two make it sounds anything but. The studio apparently approached the director months ago with some extensive notes on the script, particularly in regards to making it feel part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (bear in mind that Wright had been attached to Ant-Man since before Iron Man was released). Despite attempting to tackle these, Marvel weren't happy with the limited compromises made by Wright and co-writer Joe Cornish, so they turned to two in studio scribes to make the changes for them. Wright was said to be furious about these alterations, leading to him realising that he couldn't make the movie he wanted to. Had the filmmaker made Ant-Man before The Avengers, perhaps Marvel would have been more willing to compromise...
