10 Most Paused Moments In DCEU History

Nothing gets a reaction quite like ripping a comic book panel right off the page and slapping it straight into the middle of a feature.

And that's precisely what went down during 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman's battle with Doomsday once again boasting another interesting blink-and-you'll-miss-it visual mid-climactic showdown.

As Bruce Wayne evades an incoming Kryptonian monster, a skilful pause of the moment he grapple-hooks onto the side of a building brings with it one of the most satisfying frames the DCEU has ever unleashed. That's because, when timed just right, the Bat's silhouette in this cinematic beat acts as a brilliant homage to the cover of Frank Miller's unmistakable The Dark Knight Returns comic book mini-series.

Hell, just to really hammer home the tribute, Snyder even chucked in a cheeky bolt of lightning in the background during Batfleck's slick escape, just like the one found accompanying The Dark Knight on that legendary cover.

BVS is by no means perfect. But it does at least come equipped with a ton of rewarding nods to The Caped Crusader's comic book origins.
