2. Superman Returns (Sort Of) - Shazam!
While he would ultimately make a sensational return to the DCEU via cameo just last year, before ultimately being told his services were no longer needed not too long after, Henry Cavill very nearly made another brief appearance at the end of a DC flick a few years earlier.
Jumping back to 2019, Shazam! actually saw The Man of Steel stop by for a bit of lunch with Billy Batson's pal Freddy Freeman to close out the feature, setting the stage for a great many to quickly slam the pause button as they took a moment to let out a swift "that's not Henry Cavill!"
And they weren't wrong.
Instead, a stand-in was brought in for the eventual Superman cameo, with it later being noted that Cavill unfortunately wasn't available to shoot due to his busy schedule at the time.
Thankfully, Cavill was finally available to shoot when it came time for Superman's latest cameo showing. And his Black Adam end credits (and what would ultimately be the actor's final) appearance is also likely set for more than a few pauses and rewinds in the years to come.
