10 Most Powerful Horror Movie Curses

5. Densen Uta

Another creative curse is that in Densen Uta, roughly translated as Contagious Song. The curse in question is spread through a specific tune which, when sung, will eventually cause the singer to take their own life.

In classic form, a group of high-schoolers get sucked in and inevitably meet their gruesome ends. As things continue to go downhill, a couple of reporters begin looking into the supposed ‘suicide song’, hoping to debunk its urban legend status.

Unfortunately for them, it appears the curse is all too real, with people dropping like flies and the song claiming more and more victims as the days go on.

As far as your average curse horror goes, this is pretty standard. A lot of people, due to the nature of its subject matter, instantly compared it to Ring but it does a fair job of standing as its own product. In a saturated market of uninspired curses, the idea of spreading something through something as joyful as song is quite a nice, unique premise.
